A lead is a potential sale. It is a client request to us asking for a quotation for how much it will cost to do a project. Projects are usually website designs but can also include re-designs of existing sites, hosting services, marketing and SEO services, graphic design such as logos and brochure designs etc.
As of 10th January 2010 we have split our leads up into two groups: Premium leads and Economy leads. Premium leads are our high-value leads which have large budgets. The clients are usually based in the UK and we have contacted them by telephone. These leads are individually priced and sold on a pay-per-lead basis.
Economy leads are those leads in which the client is usually based outside the UK, budgets tend to be smaller and we do not verify the telephone numbers of these clients. Economy leads are sold in pre-paid bundles. Read more information about Economy leads.
Every Premium lead is individually priced. To buy one, just add any amount you want to your account balance and then you use that money to buy exactly the leads you want. Each time you buy a lead, your account balance will be deducted. You can add money to your account whenever you want. The money never expires either. There's no contract.
No. We make our money from the initial sale of the lead to you. Once you buy a lead from us, we take no more money. It's up to you to negotiate a price with the client for the project and the client will pay you directly. Once we have sold the lead to you we have no more involvement in the process.
It's totally up to you how many leads you want to buy. Premium leads are sold on a pay-per-lead basis. This means you choose exactly which leads you want to buy and pay only for those leads. You never have to pay for leads you don't want.
Economy leads are sold in packs of 5, 10, 20 or 40.
As of December 2009, the maximum number of designers that can buy the same lead is four. So you will never compete with more than three other designers.
Each lead displays the exact number of designers that have bought that lead. Sometimes the number sold is less than four, but never more than four.

Economy leads can be purchased once you log in to your account from the Economy Leads page.
The amount will be automatically deducted from your account balance, so you need to ensure there is money in your account first.
Log in to your account and from the left menu select the link that says "Add money to my account". You can then choose how much you want to add and which payment method you want to use. Once your payment has cleared your account balance will be increased.
No. Just think of it as a regular shop. Buy the leads you want and don't buy the leads you don't want.
For Premium leads you can see everything before you buy (except for personally-identifiable information such as the client's contact details). You can read the full project brief, see the client's budget, see the country the client is from, how many other designers, if any have bought the lead and all kinds of other information. We believe in providing you with as much information as possible so you can make an informed decision about whether you want to invest in our Premium leads or not.
For Economy leads, you pay in advance and you cannot see any information until you actually receive the lead.
For Premium leads, we set lead prices manually for each lead, based on our own judgement of what we think the lead is worth. We take into account such factors as client budget, location, project brief, contact information, whether the client wants to start the project immediately or not and how many quotes the client wants to receive.
Economy leads are sold at a fixed price for a fixed quantity.
For Premium leads: Beside each lead is a handy "Math" section which displays the figures.
Let's consider a few examples: suppose a client has set a budget of £1,000.00 for his project and the lead is available for sale at £20.00. The potential profit will therefore be shown as £980.00 That's not a bad profit!
Suppose you bought three leads like this but were only successful in converting one out of the three leads into an actual sale, you would have spent £60.00 and received £1,000.00 from your client. That's still a return on investment of £940.00.
Even if your sales skills were pretty bad and you only managed to convert a meager one in 10 leads into sales, the cost to you would be £200.00, income £1,000.00 giving a profit of £800.00!
Most of our clients from developed countries prefer to deal only with designers from their own country. Take a look at the leads and you will see this written at the top of the page. If you want to avoid competing with designers from other countries you can just buy leads where the client has specified they only want to receive quotes from designers located in their own country.
Yes. If you live outside the UK, we recommend you buy our Economy leads. Economy leads are usually from clients that live outside the UK and they are priced lower than our Premium leads. It also means you will be dealing more-frequently with clients from your own country.
As new as can be! As soon as we receive a lead, it is checked and posted live to our site. It is then immediately available to buy. We offer an email alert service which you can subscribe to for free to be alerted by email the moment a new lead is available.
No. We used to sell leads on a monthly subscription basis. However, we changed over to a pay-per-lead service in the Summer of 2009 and we introduced the Economy leads which can be bought in pre-paid bundles, in January 2010.
